What is Celebration House?
Celebration House is a unique resource centre that specialises in providing information to those planning weddings, birthdays and other important occasions. At Celebration House we do not organise the event for you, but we supply - free of charge - all the 'inside' information you need to do it successfully yourself.

Where is it?
Celebration House is situated in a spacious house at 14 Protea Road, Claremont, Cape Town (tel: +27 21 674-7350, e-mail: info@celebrationhouse.co.za). The elegant rooms showcase the work of over 120 service providers, and the variety of permanent displays ranges from wall-mounted photographic exhibits to albums, videos and wedding dresses. There are numerous comfortable chairs and you are welcome to spend as much time as you wish browsing through the displays. With its tranquil, relaxing atmosphere, Celebration House provides the ideal surroundings in which to plan an important function.

Who exhibits at Celebration House?
At Celebration House you will find displays by many leading service providers in the functions industry, including five-star venues, dress designers, photographers, videographers, wedding stationery providers, musicians, floral and decor artists and much more! We are well aware that weddings are very costly and we pride ourselves on the fact that every one of the service providers who exhibits at Celebration House is not only a name you can trust, but is also approved by The Wedding & Honeymoon Tourism Association of South Africa.

How long has Celebration House been in operation?
Pam Black (author of several best-selling books, including The A-Z of Factory Shops), recognised the need for an information centre where special occasions could be planned in a relaxed, non-threatening environment and opened Celebration House on 29th February 1996. In the 14 years it has been in operation, Celebration House has assisted thousands of couples - both here and abroad - with the planning of their weddings. We are proud that over eighty percent of those exhibiting at Celebration House today have been with us since we opened.

Do I have to make an appointment to visit?
There is no need to make an appointment but it is a good idea to allow at least an hour for your visit, as there is a lot to see and as we also offer an extensive library of imported wedding magazines and books, you will be tempted to spend time paging through them! We are open on Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and on Saturdays from 9.30am to 2pm.

Will you organise the wedding for me and is there any charge?
As previously mentioned, no, we don't organise the event for you, but we do freely supply all the information and advice you may require. There is no charge for visiting Celebration House and all information (including take-home brochures), is offered free of charge. As we do not work on any kind of commission basis, or sell anything, you will be under no pressure to book any of the advertised services. Although it is purely a resource centre, our trained staff are always on hand to answer your questions and give you free advice.

Do you have a website I can visit?
Our website www.celebrationhouse.co.za offers an extensive range of information about wedding planning, including all the legal requirements. You will also find a comprehensive database of recommended service providers. Our interactive 'Dear Pam' column offers free advice, should you require answers to any questions relating to your wedding.

Is it easy to find you?
We are very easy to reach from any area in the Cape Peninsula. Travelling from the city on the M3 highway, take the Exit 10/M33 Paradise Road turn-off and follow the M33 Protea Road signs. Look out for the house with the Celebration House awning on the left-hand side, after the intersection with Cavendish Street. You will find a map with directions at www.celebrationhouse.co.za.
